The mayor of Skopje's municipality of Centar, Sasa Bogdanovic, said on Monday that a large unfinished memorial complex dedicated to Skopje-born Mother Teresa should not be completed but erased from the city's urban plan because it blocks an important pedestrian street leading to the main square.

Tomorrow at noon at Macedonia Square in Skopje Pope Francis will serve the Holy Mass. About 15,000 people are expected to attend, not only from Macedonia, but from Croatia, Albania, Kosovo.

Pope Francis on March 15 approved sainthood for Mother Teresa, the missionary nun who became a global if controversial symbol of compassion for her care of the sick and destitute.

Pope Francis has signed off on the miracle needed to make Mother Teresa a saint, giving the nun who cared for the poorest of the poor one of the Catholic Church's highest honors just two decades after her death.

The way has been paved for Mother Theresa’s canonization after Pope Francis has approved a second miracle attributed to her. Kolkata Archbishop said, “We are very happy and overjoyed with this news, the city of Kolkata has been waiting for this day. We thank God of the great gift he bestowed on us with Mother Teresa.”

Albania on Monday celebrated the 12th anniversary of Mother Teresa's Beatification through activities that aimed to revive the spirit of voluntarism and charity.

At a conference held in the honour of the  Nobel Prize-winning Catholic nun and missionary, the goverment launched an initiative to adopt a special volunteerism law.
