Razgatlıoğlu wins 2021 Superbike World Championship

Turkish rider Toprak Razgatlıoğlu won the top stop in the 2021 Superbike World Championship title in Indonesia on Nov. 21.

Razgatlıoğlu started the race in the pole position. The leading role changed hands during the fierce race but he eventually finished second and grabbed the world title ahead of the final race of the season.

Razgatlıoğlu wins Portugal round of Superbike World Championship

Turkey's Toprak Razgatlıoğlu won the Portugal round of the 2021 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship on Oct. 2.

Razgatlıoğlu, who races for Pata Yamaha with Brixx WorldSBK, edged out Ducati's Scott Redding by 0.691 seconds to claim victory at the Portimao Circuit in Algarve.

Team GoEleven's Loris Baz came in third, finishing 10.628 seconds behind Razgatlıoğlu.

20 competed in Turkey’s first women motor speedway championship

In Turkey's first motor speedway championship for women organized between May 29 and 30 in the western province of İzmir, 20 female motorcycle racers competed on the tracks.

The country's first professional female motorcycle racer, İlayda Yağmur Yılmaz, bagged the winning trophy in the race where many participants were competing for the first time in their lives.

Slovenian basketball team invited to Olympic qualifiers

The invitation is a consolation of sorts for the reigning European champions missing the recent FIFA World Cup in China, at which they could have a chance to qualify for Tokyo as one of the top two European teams.

This honour went to Spain and France as the top two finishing European teams at the World Cup, while another six slots for the Olympics are also already occupied.
