Highways blocked as farmers escalate protests
The national highway connecting the northern port city of Thessaloniki to Moudania, Halkidiki will remain closed until 8 p.m. on Sunday as farmers escalate their protests.
Farmers initiated the blockade around 1.30 p.m. at the Moudania junction, blocking both directions of the highway.

Storms cause power cuts, flooding in northern Greece
Storms that hit areas in western Thessaloniki as well as the city center on Saturday caused power cuts and flooding of houses, Central Macedonia Region director of civil protection Charalambos Stergiadis told state-run news agency AMNA.
Fugitive horses cause chaos on Thessaloniki highway
Two horses caused traffic disruptions on Thursday after they began galloping on the highway connecting Moudania and Thessaloniki in northern Greece near the Thermi bridge.
The Thessaloniki Traffic Police responded immediately and arrived on the scene to regulate traffic while also ensuring the safety of drivers and that the horses were collected by their owner.

One injured, two detained after shooting incident in Halkidiki
One man was injured in the hand during a shooting incident in the area of Nea Moudania in northern region of Halkidiki, according to state-run news agency ANA-MPA on Thursday.
The 29-year-old man was hospitalised for treatment following a brawl with four other individuals, which is attributed to personal differences, the report said.
Man, 21, attacked by gang in Thessaloniki
A 21-year-old man who was set upon on the road between Thessaloniki and Nea Moudania on Friday night by a group of assailants, one of whom was wielding a club, was released from the northern port city's Aghios Pavlos Hospital on Saturday.

Russian national found dead in Toroneos Gulf
A 47-year-old Russian national who went missing on Thursday in the region of Aghios Mamas, near Nea Moudania in Halkidiki, northern Greece, was found dead on Friday, according to authorities.
His friends reported his disappearance after he did not return from the beach on Thursday.
