Sexagenarian marathon runner prepares for 300-kilometer race
Turkey's first female ultramarathon runner, Bakiye Duran, 62, is set to run in the Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) that will be held Aug. 23.
Duran will run in the 300-kilometer UTMB, first held in 2003. The race will cover France, Italy and Switzerland and competitors will circle Mont Blanc massif in the Alps.
Bulgarian Woman is among the Skiers who Died in the Alps
The number of people killed from the ski group of 14 people, found yesterday in the Swiss Alps, has already grown to 8. Among the deceased is a Bulgarian citizen, the local police said. "the Bulgarian citizen is 52 years old," the government said in a statement.

A fifth person has died after a group of 14 skiers were caught up in a storm, police said Tuesday, after the bodies of two climbers were also found elsewhere in the Swiss Alps.

At Least Eight People Died in the Alps during the Weekend
In Italy and Austria, at least eight people have died in the Alps during the weekend. Three Italian mountaineers died in the Italian Alps during the weekend, the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA.
