SYRIZA trails ruling New Democracy by 9.2 percentage points in new GPO poll

A new Economic Barometer poll conducted by GPO shows SYRIZA trailing New Democracy by 9.2 percentage points.

The ruling party garnered 31.2 percent compared to 22 percent for the main opposition.
Centre-left KINAL has been steadily rising and has reached 14.4 percent.

A new Metron Analysis poll shows ND retains a, over 10 percentage point lead over SYRIZA, even as the Movement for Change (KINAL)-PASOK skyrocketed to 18.5 percent from 8.1 percent.

The results clearly show the emergence of a third political pole, KINAL-PASOK, according to the survey presented by MEGA television.

Androulakis new leader of centre-left KINAL, trounces Papandreou in second round

The Movement for Change (KINAL) party's members and friends have elected as its leader in a landslide MEP Nikos Androulakis, defeating the party's MP and former prime minister George Papandreou.

With 60.13 percent of the votes counted, Androulakis received 60.13 percent and Papandreou 31.58 percent of the vote.

Loverdos backs Androulakis in second round of KINAL leadership race

Movement for Change (KINAL) MP Andreas Loverdos has announced that he will support MEP Nikos Androulakis in the second round of voting for the party leadership.

Loverdos in the first round on 5 December came one percentage point short of defeating former PM George Papandreou for second place.

The level of participation in the centre-left Movement for Change KINAL party's leadership elections has exceeded all expectations..

Shortly after 7pm, 257,529 citizens had voted, exceeding the level of participation in the 2017 party leadership race, when 211,191 people participated, electing the late leader Fofi Gennimata.
