Papandreou dismisses speculation of joining SYRIZA-led alliance
Former socialist prime minister George Papandreou has brushed off speculation that he intends to join a SYRIZA-led alliance ahead of elections later this year.
In a statement Tuesday, Papandreou dismissed the speculation saying it was part of "political machinations… aimed at serving self-interested objectives."
Movement for Change: Aims and role
The name itself, Movement for Change, is a tacit reference to the past but also appears to aim at the future. From a public relations perspective the name gives the impression that it could serve as an umbrella for different forces - but only time will tell if it will.

Center-left reveals members of top decision-making body
Greece's new center-left grouping, Movement for Change, has unveiled its political council, which is the first element of the new party's structure and its key decision-making body.
Name of center-left grouping to be Movement for Change
The name of the new center-left party comprising PASOK, To Potami and other social democratic forces will be Movement for Change, it emerged on Tuesday following a meeting in Parliament between PASOK leader Fofi Gennimata and the head of Potami, Stavros Theodorakis.
The name will be in use until the grouping's first congress, when it is expected that it will be rubber-stamped.
