MSC Cruises expands schedule to 12-month operation in Greece
MSC Cruises announced on Wednesday it will have six different ships calling to Greek shores making over 400 calls to nine different island and mainland destinations around the country, from as early as this month, marking the start of year-round operation.
MSC Musica to homeport in Piraeus this summer
MSC Cruises announced in Piraeus on Sunday that it is basing a new ship in Greece's main port for this summer season.
MSC Musica will for the first time homeport in Greece and operate 26 seven-night voyages between May and October from Piraeus to Santorini, Kusadasi, Haifa, Limassol, Cyprus and Mykonos.

Cruise industry’s sustainability priority
The cruise industry is taking steps to reduce its environmental impact, said Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman of MSC Cruises and global chair at the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), on the opening day of the 7th Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum in Thessaloniki on Tuesday, highlighting the significance of sustainability.

Cruise lines appoint new chief
Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman of MSC Cruises, has been appointed to a two-year term as global chairman of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) to become the first European in this position.
Vago will assume the global chairmanship effective immediately, succeeding Adam Goldstein, who recently completed his second term at the helm of CLIA.

6,000 People are Blocked on a Cruise Ship in Mexico
About 6,000 people are blocked on a cruise ship in Cozumel, Mexico, to be tested for the new coronavirus, BTA reported.
The MSC Meraviglia ship was allowed to dock in Mexico, a day after MSC Cruises expressed dismay that authorities in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands had refused its cruise liner. This happened after a crew member was diagnosed with the flu.
MSC picks Piraeus for homeporting from 2021
Leading cruise operator MSC Cruises announced on Wednesday in Athens a first for the Swiss-based operator: the launch of a new route across the Aegean and the East Mediterranean that will have Piraeus as its home port.
