The number of construction authorizations issued for residential buildings increased by 52.2 pct in May, compared to the same month of 2020, but decreased by 0.4 pct over the previous month, shows the data published on Wednesday by the National Institute for Statistics (INS).

Romania's National Weather Administration (ANM) updated its weather warning on Thursday, issuing a Code Yellow warning of unstable weather during the day in mountainous areas, in Dobrogea, Moldavia and Muntenia, keeping in place a Code Red heat warning for the western parts of the country, Code Orange for Oltenia and most of Transylvania and the Code Yellow for the rest of the country.

On Tuesday, the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued a new Orange Code warning for unstable weather and rain, covering over three quarters of the country, until 23:00 hrs, as well as a Code Yellow advisory of temporarily accentuated atmospheric instability in seven other counties and the Municipality of Bucharest, until Thursday morning.

The number of building permits for residential buildings issued in February 2020 increased by 8.7 percent compared to the same month of 2019 and by 33.6 percent compared to January 2020, according to the data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Monday.

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued on Sunday a Code Orange advisory for heavy snowfalls and blizzard in 12 counties of Oltenia, western Muntenia, southern Banat and the Southern Carpathians, valid until Wednesday morning.

Bucharest and other 14 counties will be under code orange of heavy snowfall on Thursday night, while 16 counties will be under the code yellow of abundant snowfall starting Thursday afternoon, according to warnings issued Wednesday by the National Weather Administration (ANM).
