The eastern province of Tunceli, where Pülümür, Tağar, Mercan and Havaçor valleys are located, attracts visitors with its white appearance in winter and lush green in summer along with the Munzur Valley National Park, which is one of the largest national parks in Turkey.

The glacial lakes formed by melting snow in the Mercan Valley in eastern Turkey are a popular destination for camping, photography, and trekking enthusiasts.

Located between the Munzur and Mercan mountains in the province of Tunceli, the Ovacık district at an altitude of 1,500 meters attracts nature lovers with its majestic beauty.

Historical wealth and natural beauty adorn the province of Tunceli in eastern Turkey, deepening its footprint across Turkey and the world.

The World Rafting Championship of 2019 will be hosted in the Munzur Valley of the eastern province of Tunceli between June 8 and 13, 2019, the Tunceli Governor's Office said in a written statement on Dec. 18.

A team of three women rafters from the eastern province of Tunceli will represent Turkey at the U23 World Rafting Championship during July 21-24 in Italy, featuring athletes ranging in age from 15 to 23.
