Bulgaria's PM to Become Lawmaker

Ministers from the two parties in the outgoing government are poised to take seats in the Bulgarian Parliament after the cabinet's resignation is accepted.

Boyko Borisov, the outgoing Prime Minister, is also tipped to become an MP.

GERB and the Reformist Bloc had a total of 12 representatives in Bulgaria's executive.

GERB To Hold Talks With Bulgaria's President on New Mandate

The meeting of the parliamentary group of GERB and President Rossen Plevneliev will take place on Thursday, announced in Parliament the Deputy Chairman of the party Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

There will be political consultations which the President will hold with all groups represented in Parliament in order to look for solutions useful for the state, said Tsvetanov.

Bulgarian Opposition Foils Parliament's 'Election Break'

The Bulgarian Parliament will hold an extraordinary session on Friday, October 14, at 09:00, despite lawmakers' surprising decision to call off all plenary meetings for four weeks.

The two main opposition parties of Bulgaria have managed to gather enough signatures to overturn MPs' earlier decision to end plenary sessions for the time of elections.

Bulgaria to Have Interim Parliament Speaker over Presidential Elections

Dimitar Glavchev, the deputy speaker of Bulgaria's national assembly, will head Parliament ad interim, the incumbent speaker Tsetska Tsacheva has said.

It would be wrong for Tsacheva to attend to her duties as Parliament Speaker over the next month, as a presidential campaign is to begin on Friday and her office would give her unfair advantage to other candidates.
