March 3rd: Celebrating Bulgaria's National Holiday and Historical Resilience

Every year on March 3rd, Bulgarians come together to celebrate their National Holiday, marking a pivotal moment in their history - the Liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman rule. This day holds immense significance, not only as a commemoration of past struggles and triumphs but also as a symbol of national unity, resilience, and the enduring spirit of the Bulgarian people.

Today Bulgarians Mark 143 Years since the April Uprising

The celebrations commenced on the occasion of 143 years since the announcement of the April Uprising.

Tonight there will be a commemorative fireworks in Koprivshtitsa.

The culmination of the celebrations is on May 1st. There will be concerts and celebrations, as well as reconstruction of the April Uprising moments.

Bulgaria Celebrates 140 Years Since April Uprising

Bulgaria marks the 140th anniversary of the 1876 April Uprising for the liberation of Bulgaria.

Celebrations will be held in different towns and cities across the country, but it will be Panagyurishte, in central Bulgaria, where where the key commemorative events will take place attended by state officials. This year's festivities coincide with the Orthodox Easter.
