Ljubljana – Connecting Slovenia, an alliance of five parties, expressed satisfaction with the latest polls as they wrapped up campaigning on Friday, convinced that they will enter parliament and actively shape policy in the next term.

Primorske Novice says Concretely party lacks credibility
Koper – Under the headline Euros and Concrete Incredibility, the newspaper Primorske Novice comments on Concretely, a new party which emerged from a merger of Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek’s coalition SMC and National Council President Alojz Kovšca’s non-parliamentary GAS, saying its main problem is a lack of credibility.
GAS and SMC parties merge into Concretely
Celje – The coalition Modern Centre Party (SMC) and the non-parliamentary Economically Active Party (GAS) merged at a congress on Saturday into a new party called Concretely that will focus on the social and economic development of Slovenia.

Minister Hojs says Slovenia among eight safest countries
Ljubljana – Interior Minister Aleš Hojs addressed the National Security Day event on Tuesday to note that Slovenia was somewhere between the fifth and eight place on lists of safest countries. He credited the security system and education from the earliest age for this, as well as people who steer activities and planning in this field.
Slovenian Covid-19 victims commemorated by senior officials
Ljubljana – Senior state and religious officials attended a memorial service at Ljubljana’s Žale cemetery on Sunday for people who have died from Covid-19, on the anniversary of the first death recorded in Slovenia. In his keynote, President Borut Pahor express condolences to the victim’s families and said the virus had not been defeated yet.
Sebastian Kurz's Party Wins the Election in Austria
The Conservative Austrian People's Party (ANP), led by its chairman and former chancellor Sebastian Kurz, wins 37% of the vote on Sunday's snap election in the Austrian National Council (lower house of parliament), according to the exit poll of Austrian television channel OE24.TV by the TACC.
"Nikolic to head Russia and China Cooperation Council"
The National Council for Cooperation with Russia and China will be officially established this week, Sputnik is reporting on Tuesday.
The Council will be headed by President Tomislav Nikolic, whose term in office expires at the end of May.
