UK climate activists target 'Rokeby Venus' painting
Two Just Stop Oil protesters in their twenties attacked the painting that suffragette Mary Richardson slashed in 1914, the group said in a statement.
"At around 10:45 a.m. Hanan, 22, and Harrison, 20, used safety hammers to smash the glass covering the Rokeby Venus," said the group, which is demanding a halt to all new oil and gas projects in the U.K.
Heroes of the 1821 War of Independence at the National Gallery
The work of Karl Krazeisen (1794-1878), a Bavarian captain and self-taught artist who spent time in Greece in 1826 and is responsible for capturing images of the pantheon of 1821 War of Independence heroes, is the subject of a timely exhibition at the National Gallery.

Benaki retrospective hits all the high notes of Moralis's career
In the summer of 1932, the Athens School of Fine Arts wrapped up the academic year with an exhibition of work by the first-year students in the class of acclaimed painter Oumbertos Argyros. Yiannis Moralis showed two self-portraits in the show, which earned him a positive review by influential art critic Dionysios Kokkinos in the magazine Nea Estia.

Nikos Nikolaou | Thessaloniki | To October 27
The MIET Bookshop in Thessaloniki is hosting an exhibition of works by Greek artist Nikos Nikolaou. The exhibition is divided into two parts. The first features works connected to theater, including costume and set designs while the second is dedicated to his murals. Nikos Nikolaou was born on the island of Hydra in 1909.
