Erdoğan hails Turkish intel’s global mission

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Jan. 6 praised the role of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), saying the organization has been showing great effort in missions around the globe, in Syria, Iraq and more recently in Libya.

"Intelligence data are indispensable for a nation's prosperity, not only in wartimes but also during times of peace.

Erdoğan chairs meeting on regional developments

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Jan. 3 chaired a meeting to discuss recent developments in the region.

Following the Istanbul meeting, held in the Dolmabahçe Palace, Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said the meeting discussed recent developments in Iraq, Libya and Syria, as well as the recent U.S.-Iran row.

Turkey Hails ‘Gulenist’ Deportation From Albania as MIT ‘Success’

Albania has denied that the Turkish state intelligence agency, the MIT, was involved in the extradition on January 1 of an alleged supporter of the exiled Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen.

Teacher Harun Celik was arrested in Albania in July 2019 while apparently trying to travel from Kazakhstan to Canada via Tirana on fake documents.
