A confidential NATO document on security in the Balkans has been adopted at a meeting of the alliance's foreign ministers this month.

Russia's Sputnik agency is reporting this on Tuesday, quoting Croatian daily Vecernji List, which said it was able to "exclusively" see this document.

A leading NATO's top commander said on Dec. 7 that he did not believe Turkish personnel sacked from NATO command were involved in July's failed coup attempt and has raised his concerns with Turkey about the impact on its armed forces. 

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has urged Western allies to maintain diplomatic pressure and sanctions on Russia until it respects the peace agreement in Ukraine.
