5 Magnitude Earthquake Shook Romania, Felt in Ruse and Varna

A 5 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale shook Romania at 1:05 a.m. Bulgarian time on April 25. This is shown by data from the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The epicenter was in the area of Mount Vrancea.

The quake was felt in almost the entire eastern half of Romania, Moldova, Ukraine and Bulgaria.

New Strong Earthquake in Turkey

A new magnitude 5.8 earthquake has been reported yesterday near Iran's border with Turkey, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center said quoted by Reuters.

The quake was at 2 km depth.

Earlier yesterday an earthquake of magnitude 5.7 occurred in the same area.

75 people were injured in Iran. Most of them were not seriously injured.

A Strong Earthquake Hit Eastern Romania, it was also felt in Bulgaria

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale was registered in eastern Romania, in the Vrancea region.

The earthquakes was recorded in 3.26 am local time in Vrancea. The epicentre of the earthquake was at a depth of 140 kilometers.

There is no information on casualties or property damage.

7.7 Magnitude Earthquake Hits the Caribbean, there is a Tsunami Threat

A tsunami warning has been issued for Jamaica, Cuba and the Cayman Islands after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean, world agencies said. 

There have been no reports of casualties, injuries or damage to Cayman Islands buildings, a spokesman for the Territory Disaster Management Agency said.

5.7 Magnitude Earthquake Registered Off the Coast of Puerto Rico

A 5.7 magnitude earthquake has been registered off the coast of Puerto Rico, the US Geological Survey reported.

The quake was registered at 12:32 Bulgarian time. Its epicentre is located 13 km south-southeast of Indios. The depth of the earthquake was 12.9 km.

There is currently no information on casualties and destruction. There is no danger of tsunami.

5.2 Magnitude Earthquake Registered in Bali

An earthquake with a 5.2 magnitude on the Richter scale has been registered near the Indonesian island of Bali, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported.

The epicentre of the quake is located 68 kilometers northwest of Denpasar, the administrative centre of Bali. More than 800,000 people live in this city.

The quake was registered at a depth of 10 kilometers.

6.3 Magnitude Earthquake Struck Chile

A strong earthquake shook the Chilean capital, Santiago, last night. There was a protest demonstration downtown against poor social services and economic inequality, the AP reported.

According to the US Geological Survey, the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.0 on the Richter scale. The epicentre is 28 km southwest of the town of Ilapel. The depth was 49 km.
