Turkey’s installed electricity capacity exceeds 100,000MW
Turkey's electricity installed capacity has exceeded 100,000 mega-watts (MW), Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fahit Dönmez has announced.
The share of renewables in the country's total installed capacity is 54 percent, according to the minister
Investigation launched over fuel oil leak at industrial facility
An inquiry has been launched following a leak at the fuel oil pool of an asphalt construction site in Turkey's northwestern province of Edirne.
The leaked pitch, which stemmed from an explosion and the cause of which is not known yet, at an asphalt construction site on April 5 covered the nearby agricultural areas.
Endangered weasel released back into nature
An endangered weasel has been released back into its natural habitat after being treated by locals in Turkey's eastern province of Siirt.
Believed to have been hungry and fallen exhausted due to heavy snowfall in the region a while ago, the weasel was found by Nureddin Yeşilfidan, a villager living in the province's Baykan district.

UN: Wildfires getting worse globally, governments unprepared
A warming planet and changes to land use patterns mean more wildfires will scorch large parts of the globe in coming decades, causing spikes in unhealthy smoke pollution and other problems that governments are ill prepared to confront, according to a U.N. report being released Wednesday.
Eurostat: Bulgaria with the Biggest Jump in Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the EU
Bulgaria is the country in the EU with the largest increase in greenhouse gas emissions last year compared to 2020 (+22.7%), according to the European statistical agency Eurostat.
Slovenia’s fall in CO2 emissions in Q3 2021 biggest in EU
Luxembourg – Slovenia saw the biggest decline in greenhouse gas emissions in the EU in the third quarter of 2021 when compared to the same quarter a year before even as emissions across the bloc increased to slightly below pre-pandemic levels, Eurostat data shows.
