Turkish state-run pipeline operator Botaş has raised natural gas prices by 9 percent for residential users and 18.5 percent for industrial users, energy sector sources said on Oct. 1.

SOFIA, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Bulgaria will raise wholesale natural gas prices by 13.89 percent from October 1 to reflect higher prices on international markets, the Balkan country's energy regulator said on Friday.

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission will most likely accept an increase in the price of natural gas by about 13.89%, Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova told bTV. Petkova referred to a statement of the regulator and added that a public discussion on the price of natural gas would take place on September 25. "The regulator will say what proposal it will accept.

Cyprus and Egypt have signed an agreement for the construction of an underwater pipeline to export natural gas to Egypt, a statement said on Wednesday.

It said the deal was signed by Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism Yiorgos Lakkotrypis and Egypt's Oil Minister Tarek El-Molla.

The Working Group of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission proposes to increase its natural gas price by 13.89% from 1 October. Unlike before, the experts' analyzes have confirmed Bulgargaz's request for price increase, which was introduced on September 10th.

Italy's Saipem, a consortium including Azeri state firm SOCAR and nine other groups or firms have submitted initial bids to build a gas pipeline between Bulgaria and Greece, the company overseeing delivery of the project said.

Cyprus's energy minister says the country will renegotiate the financial terms of its contract with a consortium on exploiting a gas field off its southern shore.

Georgios Lakkotrypis told reporters on Tuesday that the consortium made up of Texas-based Noble Energy, Israel's Delek and Royal Dutch Shell wants to renegotiate the contract on the Aphrodite gas field.

More than 45 percent of the second line of the TurkStream natural gas pipeline project is completed, Aslı Eren, the project's spokesperson, said Aug. 8.
