Heatwave across Turkey continues as mercury rises

A heatwave continues to hit provinces across Turkey, as temperatures steer between five and nine degrees above seasonal averages, the Turkish State Meteorological Service said in a heatwave warning issued July 28. 

Almost all provinces in Turkey's Marmara, southeastern Anatolia and central Anatolia regions are experiencing extreme heat this week.

Heat wave forecast to sweep western, north-western parts of Romania

The National Weather Administration (ANM) on Sunday issued code yellow heat wave advisory for the western and north-western parts of Romania valid on Monday.

The meteorologists are expecting temperatures in the range of 35-37 degrees Celsius, with the discomfort index expected to exceed the critical value of 80.

Remote Tilos going ‘green’ with RES energy, prototype battery system

A pioneering hybrid system for power production and storage relying exclusively on renewable energy sources is expected to come on line shortly on the small Dodecanese island of Tilos. When operational, system is expected to render the isle self-sufficient in terms of power.
