Exhibition Highlights Deportation of Croatian Jews in WWII
An exhibition entitled 'If I Forget You… The Holocaust in Croatia 1941-1945/Final Destination Auschwitz' opened in Zagreb on Wednesday, highlighting the persecution of Croatia's Jews with a special emphasis on the fate of those deported to the Nazi-run Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

January 27th is the International Holocaust Memorial Day. On that day in 1945 the few survivors of the Auschwitz concentration camp were released. This happens in the process of the victory of the Allied troops over Hitler and the entry of the Red Army into the camp. Auschwitz remains a symbol of the Nazi genocide.

UN Files On WWII Made Accessible
The Wiener Library for the Study of Holocaust and Genocide made the UN's files on WWII war crimes more accessible on April 21 by allowing the general public to search an online catalogue of the documents for the first time.
However, people will have to visit the library in London or the US Holocaust Museum to see the actual files.

On a visit to Croatia, the US State Department envoy for Holocaust issues warned the authorities that symbols of the WWII fascist Ustasa movement are offensive to victims and their families.
Bulgaria Joins International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance
The government of Bulgaria has approved the country's accession to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), its press office says.
To date, Bulgaria is only one of the 11 observer states at the IHRA, which has as many as 31 member countries, the press service recalls.
