Basque singer-songwriter Tonino Carotone and local act Locomondo meet on stage at the Diogenis Studio in Athens on Saturday, January 28. The event is part of the ongoing Athens Music Festival. A portion of the proceeds from the concerts will benefit the homeless shelter of the City of Athens (KYADA), as well as community projects by the municipalities of Nea Smyrni and Glyfada.

Papaioannou Tribute | Athens | January 18
The Mikro Mousiko Theatro pays tribute to the late rebetiko legend and pioneer of the genre's balladeer style Yiannis Papaioannou (1913-72), on Wednesday, January 18. Panathinaikos hires Ouzounidis as its new coach
Following the departure of Italian manager Andrea Stramaccioni earlier on Thursday, Panathinaikos announced the hiring of Marinos Ouzounidis as its new coach.
The Athens club stated the 48-year-old manager has signed a contract for a year-and-a-half, i.e. until the end of next season.

Raid on Athens supermarket raises concerns of violence

Offices of movement loyal to ancient Greeks targeted
An office in Nea Smyrni, southern Athens, belonging to a movement pledging loyalty to the ancient Greeks, Ellinon Syneleusis, was rocked by an explosion of two gas canisters placed at the entrance late Tuesday night by unknown assailants.
The blast damaged the facade of the building housing the offices.
