Opening of the 48th Bulgarian Parliament (UPDATED)

The 48th National Assembly opens today with a solemn meeting. After the announcement of the election results on October 2, the current composition of the parliament includes 7 parties. The 240 people's elected representatives took an oath to respect the Constitution and to be guided by the interests of the people.

Turkish actors to perform ‘Spoonface’ at UN in Geneva

The U.N. building in Geneva is opening its doors to 'Spoonface,' an award-winning play that depicts the value of life through the eyes of an autistic child diagnosed with cancer.

Upon the invitation of Iraqi princess Dr. Nisreen El-Hashemite, the play will premiere on Sept. 21 on World Peace Day and afterwards start a world tour.

Romania Media Split Over Reporter Axed for Insulting

Media watchers and press freedom campaigners say they feel uneasy, after a journalist was fired for expressing his strong personal views about the Prime Minister in public.

Digi TV, a private TV news station, axed reporter Cristi Citre on Wednesday after he posted several inflammatory remarks about Prime Minister Ponta on his personal Facebook page.
