Local man prepares for world tour with caravan
A 30-year-old Turkish man from the Black Sea province of Samsun is preparing for a world tour with a caravan he has converted from a clunker bus.
"The first time I saw the bus, I said, 'It should be my home.' It was like the school buses I saw in Hollywood movies," Kadir Mert, a software specialist and paragliding tutor, told daily Milliyet on Dec. 8.

A Turkish trekker claimed that she was the target of a scam by Nepali guides who pushed her for a costly medical evacuation after getting sick from height when she was heading to the Mount Everest Base Camp.
Nepal: Mount Everest's New Height is 8848.86 Metres
The new height of Mount Everest is 8848.86 metres, announced Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Nepal Foreign Minister on Tuesday.
The height of Mount Everest has increased by 0.86 centimetres, said Gyawali. After working for a year on processing data regarding the measurement of the world's highest peak, Nepal on Tuesday announced the newly-measured height of Mount Everest.

Nepal and China Will Measure the Exact Height of Mount Everest
Nepal and China have agreed to jointly accurately re-measure the highest peak on the planet, Everest, which is located at the border between the two countries.
An agreement on joint peak measurement was reached during a visit to Nepal by Chinese President Xi Jinping on October 12 and 13.
