Police Found 6 Tons of Amphetamine at a Port in Varna, Bulgarian Seaside

Six tons of amphetamines are caught at the port of Varna - West, the press service of the Appellate Prosecutor's Office in the seaside town reported today.

The drug is detected using the risk analysis method.

Amphetamines were found in 300 sacks in a container and the product in it was declared as citric acid.

Two arrested in Igoumenitsa for drug trafficking

Port authorities in Igoumenitsa, northwestern Greece, seized 6.5 kilograms of heroin from a car shortly before it was supposed to board a ship destined for Ancona in Italy.

According to reports, the stash was found with the help of a sniffer dog during a search of the vehicle, which had license plates from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

Police seize total of 3,700 opium poppy plants in Viotia

Police seized a total of 3,700 opium poppy plants in the region of Viotia in central Greece Tuesday and arrested four foreign nationals - three Indians, aged 36, 47 and 58, and a 28-year-old Pakistani.

Authorities are also looking for a 64-year-old Greek man.

Three of those arrested did not have residence permits.

Police find more than 5 kilos of heroin at woman's home

A 35-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday after more than 5 kilos of heroin was found in her home in Thessaloniki. 

Police said the suspect, an Albanian national, was arrested by officers of the anti-narcotics unit after a search of her home yielded 5.66 kilograms of heroin, a precision scale, a switchblade and 8,365 euros - thought to be profits from drug sales.

Brazilian women caught in drug bust

Two Brazilian women, aged 23 and 24, were arrested at Athens International Airport on Sunday evening for trying to smuggle more that than 1.8 kilos of cocaine into the country, authorities said on Wednesday.

According to police, the women had swallowed 185 small packages containing a total of 1,845 grams.  They had arrived in Athens from Sao Paolo in Brazil via Lisbon.
