Cappadocia, located in the Central Anatolian province of Nevşehir, and a popular tourist hotspot in Turkey, hosted 87,000 visitors in last month amid the ongoing pandemic.

Hot air balloons return to Cappadocia’s skies
Hot air balloons in Cappadocia, whose activities were suspended in line with COVID-19 measures, took off for a test flight with pilots who have received training.
Eleven hot air balloons prepared for the flight and rose one after the other to the sky at sunrise in Kılıçlar Valley in the Central Anatolian province of Göreme district.

Turkey repatriates 1,286 nationals over virus
Turkey brought back a total of 1,286 of its nationals from four African nations and Arab countries on April 26 as part of its ongoing repatriation efforts for Ramadan amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Some 207 Turkish nationals returning from Somalia and Djibouti on a special Turkish Airlines flight arrived at Turkey's Nevşehir-Kapadokya Airport.

Cappadocia balloons attract over 2 mln tourists
Over the past five years, more than 2 million tourists explored Turkey's Cappadocia region on the distinctive hot air balloons that have become symbolic of the historical region.
Cappadocia is located in central Anatolia's Nevşehir province and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1985.

Man lives alone in abandoned Central Anatolian village
A Turkish man has been living alone in a remote village for a year, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Feb. 15.
İsmail Varol has been fending for himself after his father passed away one year ago, following his mother's loss. He has been living alone in Central Anatolia's Nevşehir province's Çekme Village.
‘Vanadoccia’ in eastern Turkey declared protected area
An area in the eastern province of Van's Başkale district, which is called "Vanadoccia" by locals due to its resemblance to Cappadocia's fairy chimneys, has been declared as a protected area.
With a presidential decree dated Feb. 11, Vanadoccia became a "strictly protected sensitive area."
