Nikolic to continue consultations on Monday

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will on Monday continue consultations on the new government with representatives of the electoral lists that made it to the parliament in the April 24 early elections.

The consultations began on Thursday, with Nikolic meeting with Serbian Progressive Party leader Aleksandar Vucic.

Serbian Right-Wingers Win Seats in Poll Re-Run

The right-wing Democratic Party of Serbia-Dveri coalition passed the five per cent threshold and got into parliament after re-run votes on Wednesday at 15 polling stations.

The votes were held again after the Republic Electoral Commission, RIK, decided to cancel the results from the 15 polling stations at the April 24 parliamentary elections due to complaints of irregularities.

SNS wins landslide victories in Mionica, Lucani elections

MIONICA/LUCANE - The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) pulled off convincing victories in the local elections that were held in the municipalities of Mionica and Lucane, central Serbia, on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Election Commission, the SNS-led coalition won 64.71 percent of the votes.

BELGRADE -- A coalition gathered around the Progressives (SNS) has won 25 out of the 39 seats in the municipal assembly of Mionica.

These results were announced on Monday by the Municipal Election Commission. This small town in western Serbia went to the polls on Sunday in early local elections.
