One young schoolgirl was killed and at least 12 others were injured in a stabbing at a bus stop just outside the Japanese capital, Tokyo, on May 28, national broadcaster NHK cited police as saying.

Japan's government is considering a new way to get people to consider life outside Tokyo: Pay them to leave, reported Quartz.

One person was killed and at least two injured by two near-simultaneous blasts in a Japanese park on Oct. 23, the local fire department said.

A drone marked with a radioactive sign landed on the roof of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's office on April 22 and  tested positive for a "minuscule" amount of radiation, media reported. 

Police found the radiation to be low enough not to be harmful to humans, media said.
