Release Festival | Athens | June & July

Exciting announcements have been coming in from the organizers of the Release Athens (releaeseathens.gr) rock and metal festival, which is taking place this summer at the Water Plaza and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, both in Faliro Bay, on Athens' southern coast, on June 7, 17, 20, 21, 23, 26 and 28, and July 15, 18, 19, 24 and 27.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (snfcc.org) continues its Cosmos concert series with an appearance by Swedish indie-folk singer-songwriter Jose Gonzalez. Performing at the Stavros Niarchos Hall, the talented musician and singer will be performing songs from his fourth album "Local Valley," released in 2021, among others. A nose for opera

Luigi Cherubini's "Medea" provided the inspiration for the Greek National Opera's new bespoke candle, as the company prepares to stage the late 18th-century opera at the Stavros Niarchos Hall this spring.

Popular crossover artist Kostis Maraveyas and his multifaceted band will be performing an uplifting, funky holiday program live from the main concert hall of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center on December 28, starting at 8.30 p.m. The concert will be live-streamed by the SNFCC, free of charge on its Facebook page and YouTube channel.
