FM announces relocation of Greek forces to Egypt for potential Sudan rescue

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias announced that jointly with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' it was decided to relocate Air Force aircraft and members of the army's Special Forces to Egypt on Sunday to participate in a potential operation to rescue Greek and Cypriot citizens that remain trapped in Sudan.

The international community must aim at safeguarding Syria's sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity, Greek Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias has said, during the welcoming remarks of the Athens Retreat on Syria.

These factors comprise the basic principles of Greece's foreign policy, he added at the meeting in Kavouri, on the coast south of Athens.

FM Dendias meets with outgoing Azerbaijani Ambassador Huseynov

Greek Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias met on Wednesday with outgoing Azerbaijani Ambassador to Greece Anar Huseynov.  

Posting about it on Twitter, Dendias said he congratulated Huseynov upon the completion of his tenure in Greece, and discussed Greek-Azerbaijani relations and regional developments.

Dendias, Schallenberg discuss bilateral relations in phone call

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias spoke on the phone on Friday with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg to discuss the promotion of bilateral relations.

The two ministers also talked about strengthening cooperation within the EU and regional and international developments, according to a foreign ministry's announcement.
