Fofi Gennimata receives clear mandate with 56.66%

MPs hold a minute's silence for flood victims, as 5 mln euros for aid released
Greek lawmakers on Friday started a special session of Parliament by observing one minute of silence for the victims of Wednesday's flash floods in western Attica, which claimed 16 lives.
Press conference called over archive discovery
Parliament Speaker Nikos Voutsis has called a press conference for 1 p.m. on Wednesday to make an official announcement regarding the discovery of what are believed to be valuable archives on the premises.
The discovery concerns 1,000 original documents contained in 140 boxes.

Decision to grant prison leave to N17 hitman fuels outrage
A decision by a judicial council on Thursday to release convicted November 17 hitman Dimitris Koufodinas on a two-day furlough triggered angry reactions from politicians and foreign diplomats.
Koufodinas walked out of Attica's high-security Korydallos Prison on Thursday afternoon for the first time since he was handed 11 life sentences in 2003.

The first features works connected to theater, including costume and set designs while the second is dedicated to his murals. Nikos Nikolaou was born on the island of Hydra in 1909.

Voutsis discharged from hospital
Parliament Speaker Nikos Voutsis was discharged on Wednesday from the 251 Hellenic Air Force General Hospital, where he underwent heart surgery on Monday.
Medics indicated that Voutsis, 66, is recovering well and is expected to return to his duties next week.
