Six more irregular migrants were killed in a road accident near Alexandroupoli in northern Greece on the eve of Easter. In addition to the migrants, a local man was also killed because he happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. The vehicle transporting the migrants at high speed in the opposite traffic lane collided with his vehicle and overturned.

Mitsotakis to tour three Peloponnesian regions on Friday

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to visit the regions of Argolida, Arcadia, and Messinia in the Peloponnese on Friday, as part of his pre-election engagements.

In the morning, Mitsotakis will attend the signing of a contract for the Argos-Nafplio road connection via the A7 motorway. Following that, he will visit Mycenae and Nafplio.

PM outlines plans for development of Ionian islands

The 2030 regional development plan for the Ionian islands includes over 260 projects budgeted at 1.3 billion euros, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Corfu on Wednesday. 

He noted that funds for the program will come from the EU's NSRF, the Public Investments Program, the "Antonis Tritsis" program and the Recovery Fund. 

In 2022: Unemployment increased in two-thirds of the Regions in Bulgaria

In two-thirds of the regions in Bulgaria, unemployment increased last year, according to the annual report of the Employment Agency.

Vidin region had the highest reported rate of unemployed last year - 14.1 percent compared to 12.3 a year earlier. Montana, Vratsa, Silistra also have over 10% unemployed.

The region of Central Macedonia will have its own exhibition stand at this month's Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum, which aims to promote its unique historical and cultural heritage and highlight its rich tourism product comprising mythical mountains, legendary archaeological sites, sandy beaches, crystal-clear seas and picturesque lakes and rivers.
