BRUSSELS - The EU Council extended on Thursday the mandate for the EULEX mission in Kosovo until June 14, 2016, upon the exchange of letters between Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga and High EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Asthon.

Imposing sanctions on Russia - "unthinkable"

BELGRADE -- Tomislav Nikolić has told the RTS in an interview that the government's decision to call on Serbs in Kosovo to vote was "strategic, and highly forced."

But, the Serbian president added, "Belgrade is moving within the framework of the Constitution of Serbia."

“The MFA commends the fact that for the first time, all the people of Kosovo took part in the voting, and that the all-inclusive nature of these elections was important for the development of democracy, the future of the country, and crucial to the future of Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic integration,” the foreign ministry said in a statement on Monday.

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Aleksandar Jablanovic, who heads the Srpska electoral list, believes that it will have over five percent of votes won in the Kosovo early elections once the ballots cast by voters in northern Kosovo and internally displaced persons are counted.

BELGRADE - Chairman of the Serbian parliament’s Committee on Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Milovan Drecun said Monday that the results of the elections for the Kosovo assembly showed that the Albanians in Kosovo were aware that their future largely depended on normalization of relations with Belgrade.

BELGRADE - The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has called on Serbs to cast ballots in Sunday's parliamentary elections in Kosovo-Metohija, and thus ensure their presence in local institutions.
