The founding of the Romania-Ireland Business Association (RIBA) is a valuable contribution to Romania's and Ireland's economic development, in the general context of the European Union, National Bank of Romania (BNR) vice governor Bogdan Olteanu told the first conference organized by RIBA on Thursday.

Bulgaria Calls on Russia to Free Estonian Official

Caretaker Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov has said he is seriously concerned with the abduction of Estonian police official Eston Kohver on September 5, 2014.

In a statement, he has called the incident "a violation of international law on behalf of the Russian Federation".

The Foreign Ministry is calling on Russia to immediately release Kohver and secure his return to Estonia.

Kristalina Georgieva To Be Taxation, Anti-Fraud Commissioner

A draft line-up of the new European Commission, obtained by Reuters, shows that Bulgaria's Kristalina Georgieva would most likely be taxation and anti-fraud commissioner. 

The final line-up of Jean-Claude Juncker's 28-strong team is expected to be announced on Wednesday at noon, so the draft is subject to change.

Norway's 12-year assistance to Serbia totals EUR 2.5 million

NIS - Norwegian Ambassador in Serbia Nils Ragnar Kamsvag in Nis on Wednesday that his country sent around EUR 2.5 million worth of assistance over the course of 12 years.

In the talks with Nis Mayor Zoran Perisic, the Norwegian ambassador said that his country's main focus in the time to come would cover the high unemployment rate in Serbia.

PM Ponta: Romania-EC Partnership Agreement to be improved before signing

The last draft of Romania's Partnership Agreement with the European Commission is much better than the original one; the Romanian Government will take into account EC's observations and will improve the document to be signed, Prime Minister Victor Ponta said on Thursday evening.
