Novak Djokovic through to US Open semi-finals
NEW YORK - Serbia's Novak Djokovic is through to his eighth consecutive US Open semi-final after beating Great Britain's Andy Murray 7-6 (7-1), 6-7 (1-7), 6-2, 6-4 in New York early Thursday.
In the semi-final, the current world number one in men's tennis will face Kei Nishikori of Japan, who beat Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (9-7), 6-7 (5-7), 6-4.

Jelena Jankovic ousted in doubles
NEW YORK - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic and Czech Republic's Klara Koukalova lost to the Indo-Zimbabwean pair Sania Mirza/Cara Black 6-3, 6-2 at the US Open early on Tuesday CET
Jankovic was ousted in the singles competition earlier, after losing to Belinda Bencic from Switzerland 7(6)-6, 6-3 in the 4th round on Sunday.

Djokovic eases past Kohlschreiber into US Open quarter-final
NEW YORK - World No. 1 Novak Djokovic advanced to the quarter-final of US Open after defeating Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-1, 7-5, 6-4 late on Monday CET.
In a routine match that lasted a little over two hours, Djokovic notched up his fifth win over Kohlschreiber and reached his 22nd straight Grand Slam quarter-final.
Djokovic breezes past Mathieu to 3rd round
NEW YORK - World number one Novak Djokovic defeated France's Paul-Henri Mathieu 6-1 6-3 6-0 in the 2nd round of the US Open on Thursday.
Djokovic had an easy job against Mathieu and showed strength in this year's bid for his second US Open title. He won the first in 2011.
His next opponent will be Sam Querrey of the US , who ousted Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-3 6-4 6-4.

NEW YORK - Novak Djokovic is through to the 2nd round of the US Open after defeating Diego Schwartzman of Argentina 6-1 6-2 6-4 on Tuesday.
World number one will now face France's Paul-Henri Mathieu, who ousted Gilles Mueller of Luxembourg in five sets, 6-7(9) 7-5 7(8)-6 6(5)-7 6-1.

Nadal to miss US Open due to wrist injury
Reigning champion Rafael Nadal will miss the US Open later this month due to a right wrist injury.
"I am very sorry to announce I won't be able to play at this year's US Open, a tournament in which I've played three consecutive finals in my last participations," he wrote on his official Facebook page on Monday.

Djokovic increases lead in ATP rankings
LONDON - Novak Djokovic has increased his lead at the top of the ATP rankings compared to Spain's Rafael Nadal, who is in second place.
Djokovic took advantage of Nadal's absence at the Cincinnati Masters and kept the number one spot with 12,770 points despite an early loss in the tournament from Tommy Robredo.
