Major op nets 98 PKK suspects across 18 provinces

The Interior Ministry has announced the apprehension of 98 individuals over their alleged ties to the PKK in an effort spanning 18 provinces.

One of the biggest busts occurred in the southeastern city of Mardin, where 17 suspects were detained for disseminating PKK propaganda through their social media accounts.

Parliamentary results expected on May 30

The final results of the parliamentary elections held on May 14 will be announced on May 30 at the latest, according to Supreme Election Council (YSK) head Ahmet Yener.

"The appeal files that have reached the [Supreme Election] council will be discussed today, and depending on their fate, the parliamentary results will be known today or tomorrow," YSK head Ahmet Yener said on May 29.

1.5 mln overseas electors cast votes in presidential runoff

Around 1.5 million Turkish citizens living abroad have cast their votes in the presidential election runoff, causing long queues at the country's representative offices.

The election board has reinstalled ballot boxes at 167 points in 151 representative offices across 73 countries for the presidential runoff, which is slated for May 28 at home.

The unofficial results of the parliamentary election on May 14 showed that the People's Alliance - formed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), the New Welfare Party (YRP) and the Great Union Party (BBP) - garnered the most lawmakers in the parliament
