Military parade will include all branches

BELGRADE - Serbia's Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic said on Wednesday the preparations for the military parade marking the 70th anniversary of Belgrade's liberation in World War Two were under way, that all the branches of the Armed Forces would take part and that the area outside of the building Palata Srbija in New Belgrade was being considered as a possible location for the event.

Festival of organic production in Belgrade on July 12-13

BELGRADE - A festival of organic production will be held in Belgrade on July 12-13 under the slogan “Buy organic food- be friendly to yourself and your environment”.

The festival of organic production will take place at a market in New Belgrade. It will be organized by Serbia Organica, with the backing of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

9th BINA begins on Thursday

BELGRADE - The 9th Belgrade International Architecture Week (BINA) titled "Spaces of Publicness" will open at the Cultural Centre of Belgrade (KCB) on Thursday, offering various events such as walks, workshops, exhibitions and lectures.

Naryshkin pays tribute to victims of NATO aggression

BELGRADE - Russian State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin on Tuesday laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame memorial in Belgrade, dedicated to the victims of the 1999 NATO aggression.

Also paying tributes in New Belgrade's Friendship Park were members of a Russian Duma delegation that is on a two-day visit to Serbia.

Sinisa Mali becomes Belgrade mayor

BELGRADE - Councillors of the Belgrade City Assembly decided to declare Sinisa Mali as the new Belgrade mayor.

A total of 79 out of 94 councillors voted in favour of Mali's nomination for the mayor put forth by the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).

Andreja Mladenovic of the Democratic Party of Serbia was chosen deputy mayor.

Commemoration of heating plant bombing

BELGRADE - Wreaths were laid on Friday to commemorate the death of Slobodan Trisic, a worker at the heating plant Novi Beograd, who was killed at the plant during the NATO bombing campaign in 1999.

Members of the family, official of the Belgrade provisional authorities Nikola Nikodijevic and managers and employees of the utility company Beogradske elektrane laid the wreaths.
