Incident at Kozloduy NPP - 2 People were Killed

Two workers were killed and two others were injured on December 16 in an incident at the construction site of a radioactive waste storage facility near Kozloduy NPP. One of the injured was transported to the hospital in Pleven, the other was examined and is already home.

The incident has nothing to do with radioactive and radiation safety. It is an incident at a construction site.

The event will take place on October 1, 2019 at 1.30pm at the Nuclear Regulatory Agency building.

The position of Bulgarian government on the construction of Belene Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has changed because we now have serious offers and know details about the construction, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said in response to a question in parliament, Focus News Agency reported. 

55 Nuclear Reactors Are under Construction in the World

In 2018, the nuclear power generated 2563 terawatt hours of electricity worldwide, which is up with 61 terawatt hours from a year earlier, according to the World Nuclear Association (WNA) Annual Nuclear Performance Report 2019.

The report will be formally presented and discussed during the WNA Symposium 2019 international event in London on September 5-6.
