Turkey cuts grains' import customs duty to zero until year-end

Turkey has reduced to zero the import customs duty for wheat, rye, barley, oats and maize, chickpeas and lentils until year-end, the country's Official Gazette said on Sept. 8.

It said import duties were also reduced for coffee, with the duty for coffee from European Union countries lowered to 6 percent to 11 percent.

Two horses die of suspected poisoning in Epirus

Police in Epirus, northwestern Greece, are looking for the perpetrators behind the suspected poisoning of 11 horses belonging to a man who conducts riding tours at Acherontas River.

Ilias Markou, owner of the tour company, told Athens-Macedonia News Agency that he found two of his horses dead and another nine suffering spasms in the early hours of Friday.
