Turkish security forces seize PKK's ammunition cache
Turkish security forces seized weapons, explosives and ammunition in an operation against the PKK terrorist organization, local authorities said on Oct. 6.
The ammunition cache was seized Tuesday by the local gendarmerie forces and soldiers in the countryside of the southeastern Hakkari province, said a statement by the governor's office.
Turkish soldier succumbs to injuries from northern Iraq bomb blast
A Turkish soldier was killed in northern Iraq after he was wounded in a bomb blast, the National Defense Ministry said on Sept. 17.
Infantry specialist sergeant Umit Solak was seriously injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in the Avasin region, the ministry said a statement.
He succumbed to his injures in hospital, it added.

Iraqi Foreign Ministry summons Turkish envoy
Iraq's Foreign Ministry on April 16 summoned the Turkish ambassador over Ankara's counter-terror operations against the YPG/PKK in northern Iraq.
Iraqi authorities registered their protest over the operation, Fatih Yıldız told Anadolu Agency after the meeting in the capital Baghdad.
