Turkey’s annual inflation rate at 15.61% in February

Turkey posted a 15.61% annual rise in consumer prices in February, the country's statistical authority announced on March 3. 

The annual figure increased by 0.64 percentage points last month, rising from 14.97% in January, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

Month-on-month, the consumer price index climbed by 0.91% in February.

Annual inflation rate goes up to 2.99 pct in January

The annual inflation rate went up to 2.99% in January this year, from 2.1% in December, given that the prices for non-food items increased by 3.25%, of food items by 2.88% and of services by 2.51%, according to the data published on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). "Consumer prices in January 2021, compared with December 2020, have gone up by 1.3%.

Turkey’s annual inflation rate at 14.97% in January

Turkey posted a 14.97% annual rise in consumer prices in January, the country's statistical authority announced on Feb. 3. 

The annual figure was up 0.37 percentage points last month, rising from 14.60% in December 2020, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

The inflation rate in January 2020 stood at 12.15%, data showed.

The consumer price index in October 2019 compared to September 2019 was 100.8%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.8%. The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (October 2019 compared to December 2018) has been 2.5% and the annual inflation in October 2019 compared to October 2018 was 2.4%.

Prices rise 0.8pct in January from December 2018, keeping annual inflation rate at 3.3pct

Consumer prices rose by 0.8pct in January 2019 compared to December last year, while annual inflation stood at 3.3pct, amid a rise in food prices by 3.77pct, in non-food goods by 3.29pct and in services by 2.71pct, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics published on Wednesday.
