Dendias: Country ready to say ‘no’ to any threat
On the occasion of Ochi Day, commemorating Greece's defiance to Italy's Benito Mussolini in 1940, Defense Minister Nikos Dendias said the country is ready, "with full awareness of its historical responsibility, to restate the 'no' to any attempt to challenge its national sovereignty and sovereign rights."

Students mark dual anniversaries for Thessaloniki
Students from twenty primary and secondary schools of Thessaloniki marched on Saturday morning on Tsimiski Street as part of the celebrations to mark the anniversaries of the city's liberation from Ottoman rule on October 27th, 1912, during the First Balkan War, and the Ochi Day on October 28.

October 28: This is how the Greco-Italian war began in 1940
Shortly after 03:00 in the morning of October 28, 1940, the fascist Italian government of Mussolini sent an ultimatum to Greece, through the Italian ambassador in Athens, Emanuele Grazzi, who personally delivered it to Ioannis Metaxas at his home in Kifissia, demanding the free passage of the Italian army from the Greek-Albanian border in order to then occupy some strategic points of the Kingdo
