Marinakis on government : ‘Liars and traitors do not change, they simply get worse’

Officer hurt in attack on patrol car after soccer match

A police officer sustained minor injuries during an attack on a patrol car in Piraeus on Sunday shortly after a soccer match at the Karaiskaki stadium

The attack involved 10 people sticks and stones and came shortly after Olympiakos beat visiting Xanthi 4-0.

The patrol car was damaged in the assault which ended without arrests as the assailants fled.

Olympiacos beats Burnley 3-1, gets closer to UEFA Europa League groups

Olympiacos FC beat Burnley FC 3-1 at the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium in Piraeus on Thursday to move closer to the UEFA Europa League group stage.

The score opened for Olympiacos in the 19th minute with Kostas Fortounis, but the English team equalized in the 33rd minute with a penalty shot by Chris Wood.

Olympiakos confirms hiring of Spanish coach Oscar Garcia

Greek champion Olympiakos Piraeus appointed Oscar Garcia Junyent as their new coach on Friday, just 24 hours after axing former incumbent Takis Lemonis.

The Piraeus giant, who has won the Greek top flight a record 44 times, announced the arrival of the Spaniard in a brief statement on its website (www.olympiacos.org).
