Panathinaikos snaps up Ghana midfielder Essien
Experienced Ghana midfielder Michael Essien joined Panathinaikos on a two-year contract as a free agent on Tuesday at the end of an 18-month deal with AC Milan.
"I am very happy to be here and I'm very much looking forward to starting my new career with Panathinaikos,» the 32-year-old Essien told reporters.

Anastasiadis pays price for poor string of PAOK results
PAOK has parted company with coach Angelos Anastasiadis, the Greek Super League club announced on Monday.
The 62-year-old's third spell at the helm has come to an end following a goalless draw at home to Asteras Tripolis on Saturday which left the team in third, 10 points adrift of leader Olympiakos Piraeus and seven from second-placed Panathinaikos.

Atromitos hires Portuguese coach Sa Pinto
Former Portugal international Ricardo Sa Pinto has been appointed coach of Atromitos, the Greek Super League club said on Wednesday.
The 41-year-old, who managed OFI Crete in Greece's top flight last season, has signed a two-year deal.
"Atromitos is very pleased to announce that the Portuguese Ricardo Sa Pinto is the new coach of our team,» the club said in a brief statement.
