Forty years after her death, the personal life of opera great Maria Callas still has a rapt audience. 

An exhibition in Athens, called "Maria Callas - The Myth Lives On," is displaying 200 personal items belonging to the star, including some never put on display before, offering a rare glimpse into her personal life until her death in 1977.

“Dancing to Connect” educational program in Athens and Komotini

The U.S. Embassy in Athens, for the fifth consecutive year, is bringing contemporary dance to five high schools in Komotini and five high schools in Athens. In collaboration with the Onassis Cultural Center and with support from the Municipality of Komotini, the embassy announced its support to the “Dancing to Connect” educational program.

The Onassis Cultural Center, familiarly known as Stegi, will be hosting Jaimeo Brown Transcendence on Friday, January 27, a project featuring drummer, composer, educator and activist Jaimeo Brown (who has worked with Stevie Wonder and Carlos Santana, among others), producer and guitarist Chris Sholar (Kanye West, Jay Z) and Jaleel Shaw (Chick Corea, Dave Holland) on alto sax.

Klangforum Wien | Athens | January 12

The Onassis Cultural Center (aka Stegi) presents Klangforum Wien on Thursday, January 12. Under the baton of Bas Wiegers, the 24-member Vienna-based ensemble will perform Alberto Posadas's "Tratado de lo inasible" (2013), Beat Furrer's "Linea dell'Orizzonte" (2012), Michalis Lapidakis's "Howl" (2011) and Pierluigi Billone's "Ebe und Anders" (2014).

High and Low - A Murderer in Tokyo | Athens | December 25-30 & January 2-8

Balancing between theater and film, Syllas Tzoumerkas and Youla Boudali perform "High and Low - A Murderer in Tokyo" at the Onassis Cultural Center (Stegi) in a series of shows from December 25 to 30. The play is inspired by Ed McBain's novel "King's Ransom" and Akira Kurosawa's movie "High and Low," which was based on the book.
