High and Low - A Murderer in Tokyo | Athens | December 25-30 & January 2-8

Balancing between theater and film, Syllas Tzoumerkas and Youla Boudali perform "High and Low - A Murderer in Tokyo" at the Onassis Cultural Center (Stegi) in a series of shows from December 25 to 30. The play is inspired by Ed McBain's novel "King's Ransom" and Akira Kurosawa's movie "High and Low," which was based on the book.

Greek Jazz Panorama | Athens | December 2-4

The Onassis Cultural Center in Athens, known as Stegi, is hosting its 6th Greek Jazz Panorama on December 2, 3 and 4. Taking part in the three-day event are local and foreign artists including pianists George Kontrafouris, Nikos Anadolis, Aki Rissanen and Spyros Manesis, bassist Joao Hasselberg and percussionist Kaspars Kurdeko. Performances start at 9 p.m.

Phaedra(s) | Athens | December 20-22

The Onassis Cultural Center welcomes acclaimed French actress Isabelle Huppert in Polish avant-garde director Krzysztof Warlikowski's "Phaedra(s)," which will be staged at the Stegi on December 20, 21 and 22. The three-hour, 10-minute performance starts at 8 p.m. Admission ranges from 15 to 48 euros (special rates for students, unemployed and groups).

Classical Journey to the East | Athens | November 2

Classical music works by Bach, Mozart and Satie are given an Eastern spin by Panos Dimitrakopoulos (kanun), Thomas Constantinou (oud) and Dimitris Tsakas (saxophone) at the Onassis Cultural Center on Wednesday, November 2. The concert is part of the OCC's Hellenic Project series. Starts at 9 p.m. and admission costs 12 euros (10 euros reduced, special rates for groups).

Dimitris Papadimitriou | Athens | October 18-19

The Onassis Cultural Center, also known as Stegi, is hosting a new symphonic work penned by Greek composer Dimitris Papadimitriou. "Erotikos Logos" will be performed by the ERT National Symphony Orchestra led by Michalis Economou on Tuesday, October 18, and Wednesday, October 19. Performances start at 8.30 p.m.
