Turkish security forces have "neutralized" a total of 995 PKK/YPG terrorists since the beginning of the year within the intensified operations, including ones conduced across the border in Iraq and northern Syria, the Defense Ministry has announced.

The Defense Ministry on July 30 reported that 12 PKK/YPG terrorists have been neutralized in northern Syria during a military operation in the region.

Security forces have "neutralized" 16 PKK terrorists in northern Syria, the Defense Ministry said on June 15.

"Our Turkish Armed Forces have neutralized an additional 16 terrorists, targeting the terrorist nests in the Tel Rifaat and Manbij regions. Mehmetçik [Turkish soldiers] continues to destroy the terror dens," the ministry said in a social media statement.

Security forces have "neutralized" 41 PKK/YPG terrorists in northern Syria, the Defense Ministry said on June 14.

"Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces have neutralized an additional 41 terrorists, targeting the terrorist nests in the Tel Rifaat and Manbij regions. We will continue to bury these terrorists in the very pits they have dug," the ministry said in a post on social media.

The foundations of 5,000 residences were laid on May 24 in the Jarabulus district of Aleppo within the scope of a Turkish government project carried out in terror-free zones in Syria for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that Turkish intelligence forces killed Islamic State leader Abu Hussein al-Qurashi in Syria.

"This individual was neutralized as part of an operation by the Turkish national intelligence organization in Syria yesterday," Erdogan said in an interview with TRT Turk broadcaster.

The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has "neutralized" a senior PKK member the military intelligence manager of the organization stated during an operation in northern Syria.

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has said there are positive signs that the Syrian regime can cooperate with Türkiye for the return of 3.6 million Syrian refugees to their homeland, as well as on security matters, amid an ongoing normalization process with the mediation of Russia and Iran.

Türkiye makes efforts for the nation's security and regional peace holding four-way talks with Syria, Russia and Iran, but Ankara will keep on maintaining the interests of Syrian citizens during this process, Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on April 25.

The PKK's April 16 attack in northern Syria, in which four Turkish soldiers were wounded, has been "retaliated," and a total of 10 terrorists have been neutralized, Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has said.

The treatment of the soldiers injured after the attack on the Olive Branch and Euphrates Shield operations' base areas is ongoing, Akar told the media on April 17.
