Turkey's limp consumer confidence picked up from a six-year low in October, data showed on Oct. 22, but ratings agencies highlighted risks to economic growth from a Nov. 1 election that may produce no outright winner.

After a day of eerily empty voting polls, the first results of the Greek elections will be available with the exit polls to be released at 7 p.m. The low voter turnout, estimated to be one of the lowest in modern Greek history, may make it harder for pollsters to make an accurate prediction.

A local research company, which was previously raided by government inspectors after releasing an opinion poll showing Turkey's ruling party losing votes, announced Sept. 19 that its pollsters were detained in Istanbul while conducting a field study.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu recently stated: "We are going up in the opinion polls ? We are doing everything we can for our votes to increase and to achieve one-party rule."

The “Νο” vote is ahead 46,5 το 52,5 percent in the projected results of the first telephone opinion poll released on Sunday evening by the Marc firm, with the “Yes” vote expected to garner 45.5 percent to 51.5 percent of the vote, while the GPO firm’s results on Mega television give 48.5 percent for “yes” to 51.5 percent for “No” in the Greek referendum.

Poland's incumbent President Bronislaw Komorowski and conservative Andrzej Duda could face each other in a second round, exit poll results suggest.

According to a first exit poll released around 22:00 local time, neither Komorowski nor Duda have garnered a result beyond 50 percent and are projected to gain 32.2% and 34.8% respectively, according to Radio Poland.

The victory of Prime Minister David Cameron?s Conservative Party in the U.K. elections was a shock not only to Labour and the Liberal Democrats, but to polling companies as well.

UK voters are set to cast their ballots in  a general election on May 7 to elect a total of 650 MPs.

Opinion polls have failed to produce a clear winner, with the final Guardian/ICM poll suggesting Conservatives and Labor are running neck and neck, at 35% each.

This is a tough test for PM David Cameron, who has vowed to hold a in/out of EU referendum if reelected.
