Sofia Airport Restores Normal Operation After False Bomb Threat

The airport in the Bulgarian capital has restored its normal operation shortly after midnight on Thursday after a false bomb threat led to extra security measures being enforced on Wednesday evening.

As of Thursday, the airport is open and flights are running according to schedule, daily Dnevnik informs.

Evacuated Passengers Return to Varna Airport, No Bomb Found

The flight schedule at Bulgaria's Varna Airport hasn't been disrupted despite a security alert that triggered the evacuation of passengers from one of the airport's terminals, BGNES reported on Friday.

A suspicious piece of luggage found during routine inspection forced authorities to close the terminal at about 2 p.m. (1100 GMT) on Friday to comply with airport safety procedures.
