Kristalina Georgieva - the New President of the European Council?
Frans Timmermans is likely to be the new president of the European Commission, writes NOVA TV.
Unconfirmed information Kristalina Georgieva will head the European Council, and Frans Timmermans will be elected President of the European Commission. Diplomats say an agreement on the people who will take up these posts has already been reached at the Brussels summit.
EU leaders close to agreeing on Timmermans to lead European Commission
European Union leaders are close to awarding socialist Dutchman Frans Timmermans the job of European Commission president, with the centre-right Kristalina Georgieva lined up to head the European Council, two diplomats said on Monday.
Belgium's Prime Minister Charles Michel is a strong candidate for the job of EU foreign policy chief, the two diplomats said.
"Slim chances for reaching agreement" after a long meeting
"The chances for reaching agreement are rather slim", stated an unnamed European official.
