Bird flu arrived in Serbia
The cranes are the most endangered this time, and the focus is in Hungary, where around 10,000 of these birds have died so far.
In our country, bird flu has appeared in the places that cranes use to rest during their flight to the south. There is a great danger that the virus will be transmitted to domestic poultry, according to RTS.

Ornithological society to rename dozens of birds
Birds in North America will no longer be named after people, the American Ornithological Society announced on Nov. 1.
Next year, the organization will begin to rename around 80 species found in the U.S. and Canada.

IOM: Migrant deaths on Middle East, North Africa routes highest since 2017
Nearly 3,800 people died on migration routes within and from the Middle East and North Africa last year, the highest number recorded there since 2017, according to data published by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Gendarmerie units keep watch on endangered birds
Within the scope of the efforts to protect wildlife in the eastern province of Van's lake basins, gendarmerie units are keeping a close watch on endangered white-headed ducks by patrolling the region 24/7.
Lake Erçek, located near Lake Van, hosts thousands of birds every year. One of the rarest birds of the region, white-headed ducks, also live around this area.

Qatari children help give endangered turtles second chance
On a beach in northeastern Qatar, six-year-old Lolwa waves goodbye to two baby hawksbill turtles, a species that has a one in a thousand chance of surviving to adulthood.
Predators, climate change, fishing nets and marine pollution all contributed to the classification of these narrow-beaked creatures as "critically endangered" in 1996.
Exhibition on birds of Istanbul expects visitors
A 10-day-long photography exhibition of Istanbul birds by prominent birdwatcher and photojournalist Alper Tüydeş has been inaugurated at the Turkish metropolis.
Photos of migratory and resident bird species dominant in Istanbul and its surroundings were presented in the exhibition held at Galataport in the Karaköy quarter.
